Z., founder of Emotional Roots

“At 55, I’m still becoming — and I’m not ashamed of that.”

THE STORY

Before this brand existed, I spent years helping others grow — guiding, supporting, encouraging, and holding space for people in seasons of learning and becoming. I was good at it. I loved it. But somewhere along the way, I realized I had been so busy pouring into everyone else that I had quietly emptied myself out.

Life has a way of stretching you. Between responsibilities, family, long days, and quiet nights, I found myself reaching for a notebook more and more. Journaling became my reset button — a place where I could think honestly, breathe, and rebuild quietly. No performance. No audience. Just me and the page.

Emotional Roots was born there — in the in-between moments. In the margins of busy days. In the questions I was finally brave enough to ask myself. I started sharing words online because I believed someone else needed to hear what I was learning. And the response told me I was right.

This brand is not about having it all figured out. It is about becoming — gently, steadily, honestly. I believe growth can be soft. I believe strength doesn't always look loud. And I believe that the roots we carry — the ones planted by everyone who came before us, and the ones we grow ourselves — are what hold us steady while we reach.

I am a woman in my 50s who is still learning, still healing, still laughing, still grieving, and still becoming. If that sounds like you too — you are in the right place.

FOUNDER, EMOTIONAL ROOTS

WHAT THIS BRAND IS BUILT ON

Honesty

I share from real life — not a highlight reel. The messy middle is where growth actually lives.

Gentleness

Healing doesn't have to be loud or fast. I believe in soft, steady progress — one honest step at a time.

Roots

We are not accidental. Everything you've survived, everyone who came before you — it's all in you. That's your foundation.

Becoming

At 55, I'm still becoming. This brand is proof that it's never too late to grow into who you were always meant to be.

You don’t have to have it all together to belong here.

This brand was built for the ones still in the middle of it — still healing, still growing, still showing up. That’s enough. You’re enough.
